The Royal Docks set to attract more than £5bn in inward investment
London has decided to harness on the untapped potential of one of its most historic areas, the Royal Docks. Officially signed by the board of the London Economic Action Partnership, the detailed delivery plan will include 12-hectares of the Royal Docks Enterprise Zone.
Over the next five years, Londoners will experience a new neighbourhood full of life and buzz as the redevelopment of the area has the potential to generate 35,000 jobs, 4,000 new homes and attract more than £5bn in inward investment by 2037/38.
The staggering amount of investment is expected to rejuvenate the Royal Docks and ultimately transform them into an upcoming business and residential zone. The integrated package of investment will include transport infrastructure, connectivity, economic development, placemaking, promotion, and estate management.
As Copperstones strives to always be a visionary in matters of London property, we have luxury listings in the upcoming Royal Victoria Docks, one of the most beautiful strips of the regeneration. Listed by Copperstones, Hoola is a residential complex with world-beating views of the Thames, the O2 arena and the City. Ideal for those working in the City or Canary Wharf, Hoola is an ultra-modern pair of residential towers that benefit from concierge service, on-site gym and ready-to-move-in studios & 1-2 bedroom apartments.
When you approach Hoola, you can feel how significant this area has been for London’s development. Known as the Royal Docks, this enterprise zone played a crucial role in the capital’s economy for more than a century starting from the mid-1800s, before falling into decline in the 1960s and 1970s. The last vessel to be loaded there left the docks in December 1981.
What followed was the creation of the Canary Wharf estate, the development of the Docklands Light Railway, and the opening of London City Airport in 1987. Hoola is within minutes from the major points of interest of the area such as the ExCel exhibition centre, the City Airport, the Emirates Cable Car as well as the DLR and railway station.
Copperstones is particularly excited to be listing modern homes in the Royal Docks, set to become not only an important new business destination but also a key part of the capital’s cultural life, according to The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.
Among the key projects the regeneration entails will be the creation of an attractive waterside residential, a leisure and business district, the improvement of transport and digital connectivity for residents and businesses, the development of an ambitious cultural programme and the overall establishment of the Royal Docks as a destination that attracts talent, visitors and inward investment from around the world.
