Battersea Power Station Phase 3B – Ready to be launched this year
Battersea Power Station is a globally known, historic landmark in London that has been providing electricity to London since before the start of World War II. The coal-fired power station was designed by Giles Gilbert Scott and supremely inspired by Deco architecture. Battersea Power Station is an exceptional development – a place inspired by London’s power stations of the past yet built for London’s future. It’s set to become an iconic new landmark sitting in the heart of the city, along the River Thames.
From the stone on the façade to the steel inside, every inch of Battersea Power Station is a vision in industrial design. Not just the iconic power station but the entire development phase is awe-inspiring. And with every new phase being opened for residents, the development appears to be more charming and attractive ever than before.
Phase 3B – Ready to be launched
Phase 3 of the Battersea Power Station comprises Battersea Roof Gardens – the architectural masterpiece – designed by Foster + Partners and the masterful Prospect Place is designed by Gehry Partners located beside Electric Boulevard.
Following the launch of Switch House (West) and Switch House (East), Sime Darby Property Bhd is all set to launch Phase 3B of the Battersea Power Station, this year. Sime Darby holds 40% of the joint-venture development project and is currently chairing the venture.
Rizal Rickman Ramli, the non-independent non-executive chairman emphasized that Battersea Power Station is central London’s most promising development and enjoying being in the limelight, with crowds returning to the development for summer.
“Future phases of the Battersea Power Station project are currently under review, guided by a flexible planning and development strategy. The group is monitoring market trends in London as well as in the UK closely, and learning from the experience of managing this monumental investment for future business opportunities,” Rizal Rickman said in Sime Darby’s integrated annual report 2021.
Design plan for Phase 3 – Battersea Power Station
Phase 3 is a significant part of the Battersea refurbishment plan and it will feature Battersea Roof Gardens, Battersea Prospect Place and The Electric Boulevard – which is a new high street in London boasting high-end brands for global high net worth individuals and residents of Battersea Power Station. In 2022, Sime Darby Property expects better prospects and opportunities in the property sector. It will be able to carry on its positive momentum of the past two years, riding on anticipated growth in the overall economy and the recovery in profits at the parent firm, Sime Darby Bhd. However, there are uncertainties and challenges in the economy that need to be watched out especially rising inflation, geopolitical tensions and resurgence of old diseases due to poorer hygiene and sanitation practices.
“However, with the group’s strong leadership, coupled with agile employees and sound fundamentals, we are confident that our ability will enable us to navigate through situations and challenges with sustained success. “Overall, we are confident that we are on track to achieving our end goal of becoming a real estate company by 2025,” added Rizal Rickman.
